Marshal Salat, Veterinary Assistant

Marshal joined the Heartland veterinary team in November of 2019. He was born in 1997 in Calgary and grew up there his whole life before moving to Airdrie in 2016. Marshal is currently pursuing a career in veterinary medicine after graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anthropology in 2019.

He has always had a fascination with animals from the age of 8 when he had 3 black labs and would go to work with his father, who at the time was a farrier. Marshal lives with his girlfriend and their two cats Raven and Deku. However, he adores Siberian Huskies and would love to have one someday. Although early in his educational career of becoming a vet, Marshal has had a special interest in the field of genetics throughout his studies so far.

Outside of school and work he enjoys going to the gym and playing sports and video games with his friends. Watching hockey is one of his favourite past times and his team is the Colorado Avalanche. During the summers he frequently goes camping when he can out in BC and loves fishing in the Kootenay areas.
