Tooth Brushing

Welcome to our dental care section for pets! Below you will see demonstrations and instructional videos provided by our team (and their own pets!) on proper dental brushing techniques to prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar. If your pet allows brushing, it is the best way to promote oral health. It can decrease the need for a dental cleaning in the future and, by preventing bacteria to grow in the mouth, brushing can also prevent dental extractions!

Oral Health Consults

If you would like to book an in-person consult, our technicians are knowledgeable and more than happy to offer information and recommendations for your pet's dental health. If there is significant dental disease (plaque and tartar) present, they are able to guide a conversation about planning interventions such as a dental procedure under anesthetic. We can also discuss other helpful tools and demonstrate proper tooth brushing, or the use of dental diets or dental treats. Let us help you find the best plan for your pet's dental health!

Dental Extractions

At our clinic, we prioritize the health of our furry patients and will only extract teeth when it is necessary for their well-being. Our experienced veterinarians will provide local freezing, or numbing, to ensure a comfortable experience for the pet before any extraction. Tooth extraction is recommended in cases where the tooth is diseased, broken due to trauma, or if bacteria has caused bone damage and infection under the gum-line. After the extraction, we close the gums to prevent dry-socket and use sutures that dissolve in 4-6 weeks. Our team follows up with a recheck 10-14 days after the procedure to ensure proper healing.

Dental Procedures

We understand how important your furry friend's health is to you. It's important to us too! That's why we offer a dental procedure service where your pet will be closely monitored by one of our skilled nurses while under anesthetic. Our dental exam includes physical examination of each tooth, as well as full mouth x-rays to identify any non-viable or diseased teeth. We then remove any diseased teeth, clean away dental disease and bacteria, and give your pet a healthy and pain-free mouth. Trust us to take care of your pet's dental needs.

Root Canals and Ramps

Dr. Gheorghe's special interest in dentistry allows us to provide advanced procedures such as root canals, ramps, and braces for malocclusions. If your furry friend has experienced trauma to their tooth, has a genetic malocclusion with their bite, or any other special cases, Dr. Gheorghe is happy to book a consult with you and your pet to present an individualized treatment plan for them. Schedule a consultation today and take the first step towards a happy, healthy smile!
