Gillian has always had a deep respect for animals, and as a veterinary technologist, she ensures every pet receives the dignity, care, and compassion they deserve. While she loves all creatures, she has a special passion for horses and dogs. Still finding her footing in her new role, she’s particularly drawn to surgery, anesthesia, canine behavior, and nutrition.

Her love for animals began early—at just 2.5 years old, she was captivated watching her family’s vet perform surgery on their Labrador. From that moment, she knew veterinary medicine was her calling. Over the past 20 years, she has worked as a kennel tech, veterinary assistant, and even earned certifications in grooming and canine behavior. Now, as a recent graduate of the Veterinary Technologist program at Olds College, she’s excited for the future!

At home, Gillian shares her life with Diesel, a 6-year-old English Labrador with a heart of gold. More than just a beloved family member, Diesel is a certified service dog and even a blood donor!

 

When she’s not at the clinic, Gillian enjoys dog training, board games, jigsaw puzzles, and volunteering with spay/neuter and blood donation clinics—always finding ways to help both animals and people alike!
