Angela Ancelet, Animal Health Technician
Angela is one of our animal health technicians (AHT). She was born and raised in Calgary and went to school at Olds College to become an AHT. She graduated with honors with distinction in 2006 and used to work with Dr. Rotaru at a previous clinic and then followed him to Heartland. Angela knew she never wanted a job that she could easily get bored with. Working at a veterinary clinic every day is different and this is what keeps her interested. She also loves the fact that pets are so honest; love you or hate you, they always tell you, in no uncertain terms. She also likes knowing that what she does can help makes pets and owners lives better.
Angela really enjoys the challenge of anesthetics. She enjoys doing her best to make sure the pet is not going to have any troubles with the procedure, and she finds the pets recovery is particularly important to her. She also really enjoys dentistry because you can see the immediate change in the pet! Angela is also very interested in client education, she knows how important it is to provide an environment that makes it easy and comfortable for a client to ask any question they might have about their pets health. She is very knowledgeable and looks forward to sharing her expertise with any client who asks.
Angela has three furry children. Cameo is a beautiful calico cat that fetches toys like a dog, meets her at the door and snuggles every night (Angela thinks that Cameo must think she is part Labrador!). Calypso is a pretty tan and white snowshoe cat that wants cuddles only on her terms and is really not very smart (she will even chase her own tail…. even after she has just cleaned it…).
Angela enjoys many activities including horseback riding, snowboarding, scuba diving, kayaking, etc. and also loves to travel. She has been as far as Roatan on a dive trip, where she swam with sharks and escaped a sinking ship! Ask her to tell you the story next time you see her!
